Rapid Translation System (RTS): Advances in swift cell-free protein expression

Rapid Translation System (RTS) is a fast cell-free in vitro translation tool that can be conducted in every laboratory. RTS does not require time-consuming steps of transformation and fermentation, and attention of laboratory biosafety. The user needs only a temperature control device (e.g. thermomixer) and pipettes. These advantages enable the swift synthesis of functionally active proteins of interest within 2-4 hours from circular or linear DNA templates. Another great advantage of the in vitro system over in vivo system is to be able to express cytotoxic proteins that put a burden on the living cells. biotechrabbit offers RTS kits that contain all the required components for in vitro transcription and translation. Furthermore, our optimized cloning vectors and linear template kits simplify the template preparation. The user can therefore start the reactions simply and quickly using own DNA templates. Our RTS series covers both prokaryotic (E.coli) and eukaryotic (wheat germ and insect) protein expression system. The expressed proteins can be used for a variety of applications from functional and structural studies to screening of protein interaction partners that can contribute to discover new molecular targets of diseases.
