Cyber Security made in Lithuania - 8th July 2020

There is hardly any other region in Europe where bureaucracy and business are digitised as much as in the Baltic States. In Lithuania, economic policy strategies as well as foreign investors put the focus on IT and artificial intelligence. Therefore, it is not surprising that the small republic ranks fourth in the category “mobile app creation” according to the Global Innovation Index (GII). Nevertheless, it is precisely important to ensure the protection of data. Cyber security refers to certain technologies or applications that avoid data attack, damage or unauthorised access. As stated by the recently published Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI), Lithuania appears worldwide in fourth place in terms of attention to cyber security. The country was overtaken in this area only by the UK, USA, and France. The index considers the following criteria: the country's efforts to adapt national laws, to meet technical and organisational requirements, the expansion of capacities and cooperation in the field of cyber security. By comparison, Lithuania was ranked 57th in 2017, and the progress the country has made is very significant. The Baltic country can therefore be seen as a pioneer in cyber security – and Lithuanian companies that are active in this field, are happy to share their experiences with you.
