edudip next in action
at the data protection foundation

After it became clear in spring 2020 that presence events would not be possible in the foreseeable future, an alternative opportunity for professional exchange had to be found. The Data Protection Foundation looked for a GDPR-compliant webinar and meeting software that would meet its high data protection requirements and found the ideal solution with edudip next.

The Foundation for Data Protection was founded in 2013 by the federal government. The founder is the Federal Republic of Germany. The task of the independent institution is to promote data protection. For this purpose, the foundation offers a platform for discussion on questions of data policy and provides information on the implementation of data protection law in practice. The Federal Foundation sees itself as an interface between politics, supervisory authorities, business, science and society and acts on a non-profit and neutral basis, free of commercial or regulatory interests.

In terms of content, the foundation is dedicated to the implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The foundation's work therefore supports the dissemination of fundamental knowledge and the sensitisation of people with regard to data protection law. It also promotes the professional exchange between data protection supervisory authorities and users through lectures and discussion events.

Data protection as highest priority

When choosing a webinar and meeting software, it was crucial for the foundation that the solution met the high data protection requirements. It was also important that the system ran stably, that the operation was simple and intuitive and that the software was not overloaded with too many functions. The simple application, the 100% GDPR-compliant data processing, the in-house German-speaking support and the excellent price-performance ratio were ultimately convincing.

It was out of the question for us to use providers who process the data of the participants outside the EU. We are therefore particularly pleased that with edudip next we have found a product that is developed in Germany and hosted on European servers.

The application of edudip next

The Data Protection Foundation organises panel discussions regulary and has also recently started the series of events “Data protection at noon”, in which data protection experts give lectures on their speciality fields. The foundation's offers are primarily aimed at data protection specialists who regularly take part in the foundation's online events. Registration is via the edudip next event landing page. In addition, the data protection foundation uses edudip next as video conference system for internal and external meetings.

With the webinar and meeting software edudip next, the events of the data protection foundation are continued online, which due to the COVID19 pandemic cannot take place in presence or only in hybrid form. It works so well that the foundation's monthly lecture series “Data Protection at Noon” will continue to take place via edudip next in the future.
